SYNOPSIS
Get ready to laugh, cheer, and “raise your caps” for Gutenberg! The Musical!—a gleefully irreverent love letter to Broadway dreams and the power of pure imagination. In this hilarious two-man musical, lifelong buddies Bud and Doug take to the stage to present their homemade show about Johannes Gutenberg, the supposed inventor of the printing press. With nothing but boundless enthusiasm, dozens of labeled trucker hats, and a boombox of backing tracks, they perform every role themselves—villains, maidens, monks, and even the man himself. As Bud and Doug barrel through their wildly inaccurate historical epic, audiences are treated to a joyful send-up of musical theatre clichés, complete with big ballads, sweeping romance, and wildly misguided history lessons. Beneath the laughter, however, lies a heartwarming story about friendship, creativity, and the belief that anyone—with enough heart and hustle—can make their Broadway dreams come true. Inventive, outrageous, and endlessly funny, Gutenberg! The Musical! is a riotous celebration of optimism and the sheer joy of putting on a show.
